Mary Ellen Ziliak, RN

Mary Ellen was raised a country girl in southwestern Indiana. She has been married to Roger, the love of her life, for forty-two years. Her blessings include three children: Josh, Liza and Beth Ann, and seven grandchildren: Sophie, Esther, Jude, Olive, Maggie, Ruby and Molly. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998. Certified as an orthopedic nurse, Mary Ellen worked in the hospital and later was Director of Nursing (DON) in a long term care facility. She left nursing due to MS. Since then she has become a hospice volunteer, an artist, formed an artist cooperative, Rivertown Art, opened an art gallery, and has become an international MS Ambassador. MS: Beyond the Red Door is her first book. (photo by Routt Photograpy)

Dr. Rick Yeager

For a decade many people in and around Boonville, Indiana knew Doc Yeager as their friendly family doctor. Rick Yeager D.O. was an ER physician for almost thirty years and has served as emergency room medical director, county medical services director and is board certified in family practice. He currently serves as Warrick County Health Officer in Southwestern Indiana. Along with Mary Ellen he sits on the steering committee for Rivertown Art. Years earlier, before MS, he was an avid runner and a “gearhead” with building cars. His blue 427 Roadster remains a pride and joy to him, but takes a hind seat to wife, Debbie, and sons Josh, Matt, and Luke. Their warm rural home has always been a gathering place for the young and young at heart.
